Session 1: “The End of the Age of Convenience – Exploring the Tension between Security and Convenience” presented by Jason Chambers, Principal Architect, nuBridges, Inc.
Abstract: More and more business transactions and sensitive data are moving to the online world. However, who have we made this convenient for? In parallel, there has been a steady increase in data loss and theft. nuBridges will discuss how IT can achieve the right balance between security controls and providing convenient access to data to smooth the wheels of commerce. In this session, Jason will present: 1) Who is the enemy? 2) What are their motivations? 3) How should we (the good guys) respond? 4) What are the risks of ignorance? 5) How can we achieve balance and provide a secure, yet convenient infrastructure that lets the good guys in and keeps the bad guys out? And 6) How can we stop security from getting in the way?
Session 2: “Attaining and Maintaining the Compliance Lifestyle” presented by Carol Woodbury, President, SkyView Partners, Inc. Abstract: With the realization that compliance laws and regulations, like PCI DSS, are not going away, compliance needs to become a way of life, that is, part of your organization’s lifestyle. In this session, Carol will describe how to accomplish “compliance as a lifestyle” by providing tips on deciphering the current compliance requirements and translating vague terms into practical implementation tips.
